1. Introduction and Application
Series FTY-P Fully Automatic Type Vacuum Turbine Oil Purifier, developed based on FTY Series turbine oil filtration systems and equipped with PLC controlling system, is mainly used for the purification of unqualified steam turbine oil (e.g. ISO–VG–46, 32, 68, 100, etc.), especially for severe emulsified steam turbine oil, it can quickly and effectively destroy the emulsification and separate water, gas and particles from oil. This ensures that the quality of the treated oil reaches the new oil standard and ensures the safe operation of the entire turbine system.
The whole process is controlled by PLC system automatically after push one button.
2. About Turbine Oil
Turbine oil is a lubrication and cooling material commonly used in turbine assemblies, turbine compressors, steam and gas turbines. The oil can be of mineral or synthetic origin.
The main quality parameters of turbine oil are:
* Viscosity corresponding to operation temperature;
* Resistance to oxidation;
* Demulsifying and water resistance;
* Long service life;
* Resistance to foam formation.
However, during long term operation, the metal parts and components of turbine equipment are influenced by air, water and high temperature. Oxidized turbine oil gradually changes color from red to dark and develops an unpleasant odor. Sludge forms in the oil, acidity grows, along with corrosion, foaming and formation of emulsions. The lubricant becomes unusable.

3). Strong capabilities in separating water and demulsification. It easily separates huge volume of water from the oil. With the usage of a strengthened hydrophilic and hydrophobic technology (water separation device and filter elements), it comprehensively alters the interactive performances of the two interfaces between oil and water, and accelerates the activity of small little water molecules, combining them together to form a bigger water molecule big enough to be separated from the oil content. This ensures that the cloudy and emulsifying oil becomes transparent and clear;
4). Strong performance in eliminating impurities. Its filtering material has a composite microporous structure that is corrosion-proof and heat-resistant. This is a durable and lasting device, with long-lasting usage, and the deeply-layered filtering elements within the large surface area are able to filter out the microscopic impurities from the oil content in deeper layers;
5). Has the water-auto-discharge system, without drain the water content manually;
6). On-line oil purification can be carried out connecting with a steam turbine or gas turbine automatically with unattended operation.

8. What Problems Will Happen if Turbine Oil Is Polluted
1) Rapidly oxidizes and degrades the oil to form acidic substances and corrode metal contact surfaces;
2) The precipitation of the additive in the oil fails, the thickness of the lubricating film is reduced, and the mechanical wear is increased;
3) Lubrication, cooling, and reduced flow properties accelerate metal surface fatigue
4) Ice crystals formed at low temperatures block components and reduce system rigidity
