1. Application

FUOOTECH FTDC-10B 10A DC Winding Resistance Tester is applied to detect the welding quality of winding contactors are in good condition or not, and if there is turn-to-turn short circuit in winding. It also can detect the connecting and its' indicators of voltage on load tap changer are in good condition or not. This 10A Digital Transformer DC Resistance Tester is designed specifically to measure DC resistance values of transformer windings and any DC resistance of an inductive device.

2. What is DC winding resistance?

Winding resistance is defined as the resistance of a length of copper wires from one end to the other. It is a measurement of DC voltage and current in regard to Ohm's law, where R (resistance) is equal to V (voltage) divided by I (amps). Measuring winding resistance is important, because it can identify problems not easily found through other testing processes. Winding Resistance Meters can identify and diagnose Resistive connections (both internally and externally), partial blowout, shorting in the windings, improper coil or group connections, and more. Winding Resistance Meters are generally used to measure the winding resistance of transformers, chokes, induction coils, heater coils, generators, and an assortment of other motors where no brushes reside in series with the circuit.
