FUOOTECH’s FTDC-40A Transformer DC Resistance Testing Equipment is designed for testing the DC resistance of inductance circuit such as power transformer coil, current transformer coil and so on.

This winding resistance test set can check the welding quality of the winding joints and whether the winding have inter-turn short circuits. It can test whether the contact of each position of the voltage tap switch is good, whether the actual position of the tap changer matches the indicated position, whether the lead wire is broken, and the multi-stranded wire is wound in parallel. Whether there is stock breakage, etc.

2. About DC Winding Resistance Test

Large power transformers are very valuable and expensive assets that are key to the operation of the electric power system. This includes generator step-up (GSU) transformers that connect generators to the transmission system.

When the unit is returned to service, the currents and voltages seen during energization can differ from typical values. These changes in current and voltage have the potential to modify the response of generator and transformer protection relays when the unit is energized for the first time following the testing.
