1. Introduction & Application

FUOOTECH's FT-ZLA Mineral Transformer Oil Surface Tension Tester is designed and made as per national standard of People's Republic of China GB/T6541 and ASTM D971 Standard Test Method for Interfacial Tension of Oil against Water by the Ring Method.

This Transformer Oil Interfacial Tension Testing Equipment is used to determine the interfacial tension between mineral oils and water under non-equilibrium condition (Liquid-Liquid interface).

It can also be used to determine interfacial tension of various liquids (Liquid-Gas interface).

2. Working Principle
Platinum ring method is a traditional testing method, which takes about 70 years. It is made of platinum wire with a diameter of 0.37mm to make a ring with circumference of 60mm. In the test, the platinum ring is dipped into the liquid surface (or interface two kinds of non-mixing liquid) 2-3mm, and then slowly put the platinum ring up, and there will form a film between the ring and the liquid surface. The film has a pull down force on the platinum ring, measuring the maximum force exerted on the ring in the lifting process of the entire platinum ring, and then converting it into a true surface (interface) tension value.
