1. Insulation function. Transformer oil is a fluid. It can fill any space between the components in the transformer, preventing the insulation from being reduced due to moisture between the components and the air. Since transformer oil has higher insulation strength than air, it can maintain good insulation between windings, between windings and iron cores, and between windings and tank shells, increasing the insulation strength of the transformer.
2. Heat dissipation During operation, the heat generated due to losses in the iron core and windings causes the temperature of the transformer oil to rise, and the volume expands due to the decrease in specific gravity. After being cooled by the cooling device, it then enters the transformer oil tank. bottom, thus forming an oil circulation. The oil stove circulation cools the windings and iron core and improves the operating conditions.
3. Hidden arc extinguishing effect. In addition to the functions described above, transformer oil can also accelerate arc extinguishing in the transformer shell under certain special operating conditions.
