At 20:22 on March 12, the No. 2 unit of the Huaneng Zhengning 2×1000 MW peak-shaving coal-fired power project undertaken by Shandong Electric Power Construction Company No. 1 was successfully connected to the grid once, and the parameters of each system of the unit were normal, laying a solid foundation for the next step of the unit to pass the 168-hour trial operation and officially put into commercial operation.
The project is located in Zhengning County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province. It is a key supporting power source for the "Gansu Power Enters Shandong" project and one of the major projects determined to be implemented in the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Outline and the Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-quality Development Plan. The company undertakes tasks such as unit installation and commissioning. Through the integrated planning, construction and operation of wind, solar, fire and storage, the project will build supporting expansion and upgrade of 4 million kilowatts of peak-shaving coal-fired power, 6.5 million kilowatts of wind power, 4 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power and 1 million kilowatts (2 hours) of energy storage. After completion, it can export 40 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
This project is the first in the world to adopt a "five-tower-in-one" system that integrates the main engine cooling tower, auxiliary engine cooling tower, desulfurization absorption tower, CCUS system original flue, and chimney. Relying on the rich coal and wind and solar resources in the eastern Longdong area and the advantage of the "Longdong Power into Shandong" channel, it strives to create a green, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and efficient, multi-energy complementary comprehensive energy base with excellent indicators. Green intelligent peak-shaving power supply is a demonstration project to promote the clean and efficient development, transformation and utilization of coal, help achieve the "dual carbon" goal, and build a new power system.
