A few days ago, good news came from the San Gawang III Hydropower Station project in Peru, which was constructed by the 14th Bureau of Hydropower. Two units successfully completed trial operation and were successfully connected to the grid to generate electricity. The achievement of this important node has added a strong stroke to China Power Construction's deep cultivation of the South American market and expansion of its overseas territory.
The San Gawang III Hydropower Station project in Peru is located in the Puno region in southern Peru. The engineering design is extremely challenging. The rated head of the power station is 630.71 meters, equipped with two impulse turbine generators, with a total installed capacity of 209.3 megawatts and a designed annual power generation of up to 1.25 billion kWh. After completion, it will inject strong momentum into the local energy supply.
Since the project was awarded, the bureau has responded quickly, selected elite backbones to form a professional and efficient project management department, and fully launched the preliminary preparations for the project. Adhering to the belief of "to start is to sprint", the project team carefully allocated construction forces and resources, adopted a shift operation mode, and made every effort to promote the construction platform construction, TBM equipment assembly and commissioning, step-by-step excavation and other work. With tenacious perseverance and superb technology, the 9.17-kilometer excavation task was completed in just 16 months, creating an excellent record of 50 meters of daily excavation and 1,007 meters of monthly excavation, achieving tunnel penetration ahead of schedule, and demonstrating the "hard core" strength of China's engineering construction.

Faced with many difficulties such as severe internal water seepage, discontinuous lining concrete pouring, and multi-process cross-operation, the project team scientifically coordinated and accurately planned, strictly followed the construction plan, rationally allocated on-site resources, properly coordinated cross-operation conflicts, overcame unfavorable factors such as inconvenient transportation during the rainy season, completed the installation of pressure steel pipes and other related nodes, and passed the quality inspection at one time, laying a solid foundation for the project to be put into production as scheduled.
During the project construction process, Hydropower Bureau No. 14 always paid attention to cross-cultural exchanges and integration. Actively promote the integration of local Peruvian employees into the Chinese management system and build a cultural exchange platform between China and Peru. During every festival, Chinese and local employees jointly organize a variety of sports activities to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen teamwork awareness in laughter and joy, and further deepen the friendship between the peoples of China and Peru.
