On the evening of March 18th, witnessed by the State Grid of Egypt, the owner, the supervisor and the East China Institute project team, the reverse power transmission of the 220 kV booster station of the 500 MW Suez Bay Wind Power Project of Power China in Egypt was successfully completed, marking that the project officially entered the grid-connected commissioning stage, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent full production.
In the process of preparing for the major node goals of reverse power transmission, the project performance team faced multiple challenges such as tight construction resources of the booster station and difficult equipment quality control. Faced with numerous difficulties, the project performance team quickly adjusted its strategy, implemented the upgraded management of the booster station contractor, optimized the allocation of construction resources, and dynamically supplemented the construction force to meet the node control needs. The project performance team strengthened the commissioning capabilities, dispatched additional commissioning engineers and management personnel, and gave priority to solving the bottleneck problems faced by key tasks. The team also fully respected local culture and customs, reasonably arranged the construction time during Ramadan, and ensured the steady progress of the project. With the successful completion of the major node goals of reverse power transmission, the project officially entered the grid-connected commissioning stage. The performance team will continue to go all out to ensure the high-quality delivery of the project on schedule.
The Suez Bay Wind Power Project in Egypt is located on the coast of the Red Sea, with a total installed capacity of 500 MW. After completion, it will become one of the largest wind power projects in the region. Power China is the general contractor for design, procurement and construction of this project.
