Maersk announced an increase in peak season surcharges starting in mid-December 2025, covering freight routes from several Asian countries and regions to several Middle Eastern countries. The specific effective date and surcharges vary depending on the origin, and the surcharges will remain in effect until further notice.
The surcharge for routes from Dalian, Qingdao, Xingang (China), Japan, and South Korea to the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia will be US$600/TEU, effective December 15, 2025.
The surcharge for routes from Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and East Timor to the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia will be US$800/TEU, effective December 15, 2025.
The surcharge for shipments from Vietnam to the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia is US$800/TEU, effective December 16, 2025.
